Travel • Phuket June2016 (Part 1-Day 2)

Rise and Shine! It's Day 2 at Novotel Karon. We headed to the Horizon cafe where they serve buffet breakfast. Greeted by friendly servers & sumptuous spread!




Yes! U saw it right! That's a pancake machine. It dispenses 3 pancakes at a press of the button!Both the boys were intrigued by it and had pancakes for breakfast daily! πŸ˜…
Choice of juices at the corner, would prefer fresh juices instead of concentrates thou.
There're also melamine crockery specially for the children's use! No more worrying the kid might drop and break the bowl 😜
We brought the boys to the kids club after breakfast~ Kids World.

It's divided into 2 areas.


This section is for the younger kids. There is a small slide and ball pit, puzzles, building blocks, play kitchen and table toys.


And this zone's for the older kids, mainly TV games, arcade games & a small library. There's also movie-on-demand.
I was impressed with how neat and clean the kids club was! And the good range of toys/activities suitable for 6mo babies to teenagers, in fact even for the adults! πŸ˜„
Look! Even the dad can't resist a game of soccer on Playstation!
After a good hour plus spent at the Kids World, we went to the pool and had lunch at Joe Kool again.
Lil K really liked their fried rice! πŸ˜ƒ
On most days, Mini K would return to the room with me (shortly after lunch) and have a nap while Lil K stayed on with Daddy. They'll either be at the kids club or hanging out at shady parts of the pool. 
And we'll join them again after nap, for teabreak & short splash 😊 #TravellingWithToddler

 For the 2nd day's dinner, Daddy suggested trying out BBQ skewers. So we took a cab to Karon Town again.

Rice noodle soup, Basil Pork, Prawn fritters, Shrimp omelette
Ordered chicken skewer and bacon sausage skewer,both were nice. But their Thai dishes were a lil on the salty side, I had to add hot water to dilute out the rice noodles soup for Mini K.

After dinner, we returned to the resort and redeemed our Welcome Drinks at Champions Bar.






Lil K had a friendly pool match with Daddy,while Mini K watched and collected some choice balls πŸ˜‚ No prize for guessing who's the winner. It doesn't matter how good u are at the game,Daddy!😝

Recipe • Luncheon Meat & Potatoes in Baked Beans Sauce

The hubby spotted a can of baked beans in our kitchen cabinet, told me it's been awhile since he last ate Luncheon Meat & Potatoes in Baked Beans Sauce and requested for the dish. Recipe • Nam Yu Crispy Pork 南乳炸肉

This recipe which I'm sharing is an easy & flavorful meat dish. Nam Yu is also known as fermented red beancurd, often eaten as a side condiment with Teochew porridge or used as a marinate for meat. Do give this homestyle Nam Yu Crispy Pork 南乳炸肉 a try! :) Ingredients: 350gm Pork Belly, remove skin 2 cubes of Fermented Red Beancurd + 1tsp of sauce 1 Egg 1tsp minced Garlic 1/2tsp Five Spices Powder 1/2tsp Sugar 2tsp Sesame Oil 2tsp Light Soy Sauce 3/4TBS Oyster Sauce 2TBS Hua Diao Wine Dashes of White Pepper 4TBS (heap) Cornflour Method: •Remove pork belly skin. Cut into 3-4 pieces of 15cm length, 3cm thickness. •Wash and pat dry. •Marinate pork belly with the above ingredients, except cornflour. •Mix in cornflour last, after pork belly is well-mixed with marinate. •Leave in the fridge (Mine was 6hrs, overnight is ok too) •Remove from fridge about 1hr before frying, mix pork belly with marinate again. •Heat oil, deep fry the meat till golden brown.
